Little Eyes

Burn little eyes
With anger beyond hope
Scorn all who
Care not look at them.

Hide little eyes
From beyond the scope
Of not one or two
But all so-called friends.

Offer not little eyes
Glances never noticed nor wanted
Abandon the desires
That have already abandoned you.

Proffer not thoughts you prize
To the eyes that won’t listen
Bother not to awaken the fire
That was not demanded of you.

Do not speak little eyes
What no one dares to hear
And revisit not the face
Of the soul who owns them.

Do not seek little eyes
For more than thee
Lest you come to hate
Your misery.

Do not pray little eyes
Beyond the tears
Only retrace the fears
And admit once again
The beginning is the end.

Do not hate little eyes
More than your share
Forsaking your own care

Your cross you will not bear
Refusing to listen again
And find
The end is where hope begins.

Downtrodden little eyes
Forgotten by no one or all
Forsaken of your own choice

Will you not look above you?

Hated little eyes
So much more than your fall
Lift your lonely voice
To holy eyes
Which never cease to love you.

Be grateful little eyes
Breathe in more than mistakes
And regrets refusing
To loosen their hold.

Watch Him turn you
From cold to blue
Freedom is of your choosing
If you are so bold.

Listen little eyes
For more than your thoughts
Listen and do not despise
The price paid for you to rise
From your chains
To a glory beyond the nought
For your end is where
Your beauty begins.
