We Are All Guilty…And We Are All Sane

We are all guilty…
And we are all sane…

(Surely I will be sorry
Before this day is ended.
And I will be abhorred
For the greed
I have befriended.)

These words…
This anger…
The hidden dangers…

The demise of this malfeasance
And the rise of humility
Must become more well-known
Than the name I own.

We are all guilty…
And we are all sane…

My words haunted every action,
My intentions daunted by every choice
Of this day.

Unto the pure
All things are pure
But unto me
My deeds betray my voice
And what was once sure
Is now but a mockery.

We have all been guilty…
Yet we can all be sane…

I laid it all
At Your feet,
But looked for more
In the mirror

And I’ve rarely been afraid to fall
I’ve often seen much clearer
Through the eyes of defeat.

We have all been guilty…
And yet we can be forever sane…

For our sakes and Yours,
We
Were Your defeat.
